I found myself using magic a ton more during this playthrough, and fights were much longer as I just dodged and picked away at enemies from afar. Some of the tougher basic enemies can do you in quickly if you don't know their attack patterns. Be sure to visit Velez and purchase a full stock of healing items before any bosses, and don't hesitate to backtrack halfway through a normal area either. Unlike a traditional NG+ (although this is becoming more common), Anima's NG+ is more difficult than your first playthrough (essentially Hard difficulty), despite keeping your level and all your items. NG+ save files will have a "+" in front of them on the Load screen. Use a new slot so you can continue working on other stuff on your main save file, and whenever you're ready, load this new save file and run through the game a second time. Once you beat the game (no matter which ending you get), you will be prompted to save your game. Just make sure to stock up on healing items and you'll do fine though. It felt like it was locked into a Hard difficulty that didn't even exist before. Do be aware that NG+ is harder than your initial playthrough. Run through the game a second time for your 1000G. The only achievements you should have left at this point are for getting to Level 16, collecting the final Velez Seal, and beating NG+ itself. Load that last save back up and defeat the Secret Boss and complete the game once more, which will give the Secret ending. Load one of your saves back up and choose "Stay" which will have you continue playing until another boss fight (save prior to this as well), which will award the True ending. Save your game in two slots, and choose "Rest" after this battle for the Alternate ending. A book will appear in the Nexus, and this begins the final part of the game. Nothing is missable as far as collectibles go, but it's easier to do it as you play the story rather than backtracking later.Īs you near the end of the game (after completing all three wings of the Nexus), you will want to make sure you pay attention to the order you do things.
